About this role
At Interior Solutions, we design, furnish, equip, install, and elevate the spaces where people work, learn, store, heal, and live. We see our clients’ world and inspire its possibility — and we’re looking for a Design Manager who brings that same perspective to leading a high-performing design team.
About the Role
The Design Manager leads our team of designers in delivering thoughtful, accurate, and inspired design solutions across commercial furniture, architectural products, and specialized storage environments. You’ll guide project design from concept through installation, mentor designers in best practices, partner with sales and project management, and ensure that every layout and specification reflects client needs, compliance requirements, and Interior Solutions’ standards for excellence and clarity.
This role is both people-focused and technically rigorous — ideal for a leader who enjoys developing talent, elevating design quality, and collaborating across teams to create spaces where form and function meet purpose.
What You’ll Do
Lead & Develop the Design Team
• Mentor, coach, and support designers in skill development, workload balance, and project execution
• Model our core values — listening, diligence, accountability, and client-centeredness
Deliver Exceptional Project Design
• Oversee the creation of test fits, space plans, finish palettes, 3D layouts, and full specifications
• Review and approve design packages for accuracy, constructability, and alignment with client goals
• Ensure all drawings and specs meet manufacturer standards and project requirements
Collaborate Across Departments
• Partner closely with sales to understand client objectives and translate them into actionable design
• Support project managers and installation teams with accurate documentation and timely revisions
• Participate in client presentations where needed to communicate design intent
Champion Process & Quality
• Improve workflows for efficiency, clarity, and cross-team collaboration
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, brand alignment, and design excellence
• Guide the team in balancing speed and precision — “cranking ’til completion, with grace”
Be the Face of the Design Team
• Actively network within the commercial design and A&D community, strengthening relationships that support project success and brand visibility
• Participate in IIDA events, committees, or programming as a visible ambassador of Interior Solutions’ design leadership
• Build partnerships with architects, contractors, manufacturer reps, and industry peers to stay ahead of trends and elevate our collective work
What We Offer
• Competitive compensation
• Medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
• PTO
• Professional development and training
• Performance bonuses
• A great office culture where you are valued and seen as a vital member of our team
Who We Are
At Interior Solutions, we partner with organizations across Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and the greater Southwest to design and deliver environments where people work better and feel inspired. Our outward-focused approach — listening closely, planning thoroughly, and delivering with precision, transparency, and care — ensures every space we create reflects the people and purpose at its center. We’re not just shaping environments; we’re building trust, honoring commitments, and standing firmly for ethics, respect, and genuine partnership.
Our culture is rooted in values that guide how we work and how we show up for our clients and for each other. We remove ourselves from the center and place our clients and teammates there instead, listening deeply and investing fully. We drill with diligence, drive with tenacity, and deliver results aligned with clear, strategic goals. And above all, we stay self-aware and accountable — recognizing the influence we have, owning our impact, and ensuring our individual efforts strengthen the team as a whole.
