Position: Commercial Designer/Specifier with Architectural Focus We are looking for a talented and motivated Commercial Designer Specifier with an eye for architecture and design to join our commercial furniture team. Ideally, we are seeking someone who has had one previous professional experience in a design-related role and is eager to take on a new challenge. In this role, you’ll collaborate with experienced designers and sales professionals to develop functional and innovative commercial interior solutions, specifying high-quality products to meet client needs. Responsibilities: · Design Collaboration: Partner with designers and sales professionals to conceptualize design solutions and make tailored product recommendations for clients. · Technical Documentation: Produce precise floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using Configura CET, showcasing a strong design sense with architectural awareness. · Product Specification: Specify Steelcase and other product lines, selecting items that align with client requirements, budgets, and project goals. · Prepare product specifications and pricing quotes, ensuring attention to detail. · Project Management: Manage multiple projects efficiently, ensuring adherence to timelines and client satisfaction. · Client Engagement: Engage directly with clients and project teams in meetings, presenting design concepts and providing product expertise. · Collaborate closely with the sales team to deliver excellent customer service and foster client relationships. Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree preferred; a degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field is advantageous. · Prior experience (ideally 1-3 years) in a design, architecture or related field is preferred; exceptional entry-level candidates will also be considered. · Proficiency in design software such as Configura CET. · Strong organizational and time-management skills with an ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative spirit. · Detail-oriented, with a natural inclination for problem-solving. · Passionate about design, with a keen interest in staying current on industry trends and innovations.
