LARK+PALM Interiors is a boutique interior design firm specializing in providing refined and bespoke interiors for residential and specialty commercial/hospitality projects. Our studio is collaborative, creative, and fast-paced…we also have a lot of fun. We're looking for a design assistant who's as talented as they are energetic to join our growing team.
The Role
As a Design Assistant, you'll be the right hand to our design team, supporting every phase of projects from concept through installation. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to learn from the best while contributing meaningfully from day one. You'll touch everything: sourcing exquisite furnishings, developing presentation materials, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and helping bring our clients' dream spaces to life.

What You'll Do
Design & Creative
• Assist in developing design concepts, mood boards, and presentation materials
• Source furniture, fixtures, lighting, art, and accessories from trade showrooms and vendors
• Create detailed specifications and procurement schedules
• Conduct material and finish research, maintaining our extensive sample library
• Prepare CAD drawings, floor plans, and elevations as needed
• Support design team during client presentations
Project Coordination
• Manage purchase orders, track deliveries, and coordinate installations
• Communicate with vendors, contractors, and artisans to ensure seamless execution
• Maintain project files, timelines, and budgets with meticulous organization
• Schedule and coordinate site visits, measurements, and installations
• Prepare and update project documentation including furniture schedules and specifications
Client & Team Support
• Interface with high-end clients professionally and graciously
• Attend client meetings, site visits, and vendor appointments
• Respond promptly to client inquiries and requests
• Support team with administrative tasks to keep projects moving smoothly
• Contribute ideas and creative solutions during team brainstorms
What You Bring
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field
• 1-3 years of experience in interior design (luxury residential or hospitality a plus)
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp
• Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
• Deep knowledge of high-end furniture, fabric, and finish resources
• Excellent understanding of construction documents and specifications
• Impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills
• Outstanding written and verbal communication
Technical Superpowers
• You can draft clean, accurate CAD drawings in your sleep
• You create gorgeous presentation boards that tell a story
• You know your way around luxury showrooms and trade resources
• You understand how things are actually built and installed
• You can read and interpret architectural and construction drawings

• Experience with rendering software (V-Ray, Enscape, or similar)
• Knowledge of Houzz/Ivy, Studio Designer or similar project management software

• Experience managing custom millwork or furniture fabrication
• Portfolio showcasing luxury residential or hospitality work
