Design Assistant

Ellie Mroz Design is seeking a Design Assistant to join our growing, nationally published NJ design/build firm. The ideal candidate has both a killer sense of style and knowledge of current trends in the industry, as well as a basic understanding and passion for construction and remodeling. This candidate will be responsible for assisting with residential design projects from conception through execution and will act as the assistant to the Lead Designer in selecting plumbing, flooring, stone, tile, countertops, hardware, and beyond. The candidate must have strong teamwork and communication skills, be detail-oriented and driven to exceed client expectations. Specific tasks include: Design: -Execute base elevations and floor plans for design development -Execute preliminary design elevations for millwork + bathrooms -Prepare for and attend showroom visits -Order samples in line with design direction -Set up presentation documents -Set up and maintain finish schedules (paint, tile... stone etc.) Management: -Site install coordination -Relaying relevant information between EMD Construction Consulting team and EMD Furnishings team Administrative: -Assist in presentations and meetings -Vendor quotes + revisions -Vendor follow-up/ scheduling -Ivy Proposals -Purchasing/Tracking -Sample drop off/ pick-up as needed
