Position Title: Interior Designer – Government Healthcare Projects Job Classification: Exempt, Fulltime... Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM Reporting Relationship: VP of Millcreek Location: Kansas City, KS or Denver, CO - Remote Primary Accountabilities The Interior Designer is responsible for managing and delivering government healthcare design projects on time, within budget, and according to contract requirements while achieving a high level of client satisfaction. Major Responsibilities • Research and select appropriate materials and finishes, including flooring patterns, casework, lighting, and furniture. • Develop comprehensive interior design (CID) documents, including room layouts, technical specifications, and project content lists. • Coordinate CID with structural and interior design (SID) elements. • Oversee the procurement and installation of furniture, finishes, and casework. • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including the Whole Building Design Guide (WBDG), Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), US Army MEDCOM Interior Design Masterplan Guides, and Military Health System (MHS) Space Templates. • Maintain strong communication with clients and stakeholders, providing regular updates and managing expectations. • Manage the design process, control scope development, and assist in updating the FF&E schedule for installations and moves. • Coordinate with clients, design-build or construction project teams, and vendors to ensure project installation needs are met. • Develop, manage, and organize FF&E submittals and documentation across both design and project phases, including assisting equipment planners with system database, specifications, and quotes. • Assist project superintendent and field staff with coordination, communication, and various clerical duties as needed. • Prepare and disseminate closeout manuals, Requests for Information/Clarifications, and ensure maintenance of logs and all project documentation. • Support the project team by integrating into the delivery team to provide clear, accurate solutions to the owner's needs. • Prepare and help prepare FF&E drawings, and lead or participate in all project-related meetings. • Oversee onsite and offsite processes to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations alongside site Superintendent. • Prepare internal and external reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions, including monthly forecasting, budgeting, cost and risk analysis, and recommendations to management. • Manage each phase of the project including entitlement, design-build, permitting, bidding, contracting, construction, billing, and close out to ensure all deadlines are met. • Assist with overseeing project budget, timelines, quality control, and assurance. Conduct project IO-T and Commodity cost estimating. • Assist procurement activities (buyout) of subcontractors, verify Superintendent's Look Ahead Schedule, and maintain open communication with field staff to work towards issue resolutions. • Manage owner relationships and satisfaction, ensure SOW requirements are met, and actively promote effective communication within the project team. • Participate in inventory as required. • Coordinate work of applicable MillCreek subcontractors across various phases of the project and ensure preparedness and knowledge of project specifics for all projects and estimates involved
