Assistant Director - Interior Design

About the position Responsible for the overall operation of the Interior Design Services section, including supervision and training of the Interior Design staff, monitoring of design quality, and project budgets and schedule. The Assistant Director also functions as an active project manager and is responsible for establishing process improvements and communications within the Facilities Services division. Responsibilities Supervision and training of the Interior Design staffMonitoring of design qualityManaging project budgets and schedulesActive project managementEstablishing process improvementsEstablishing communications within the Facilities Services divisionRequirements Familiarity with higher education pedagogy, space planning and design, and construction delivery methods.Experience managing multiple and complex projects and ability to apply project management methodologies.An understanding of sustainable design and practices.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.A valid NC Driver’s License or ability to obtain one prior to start date.Nice-to-haves Fifteen (15) years project management experience, with a minimum of ten (10) years in University development, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience or any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.National Council for Interior Design Qualification ( NCIDQ ) certification.
