Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAppleOne is assisting a Commercial Interior Design firm with finding an Interior Designer to join their team. The person in this role will assist sales personnel in securing profitable project sales using technical and creative design skills. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical Proficiencies: Experienced in AutoCAD. 3D software use (CET, some SketchUp). Specification software use (SPEC, CAP). Experience using Microsoft Suite. Layout skills for installation drawings and presentation packages. Responsible for all phases of the design process. Discovery sessions with client to determine project requirements. Showroom tours of products and settings. In person project presentations using Live Design in CET. Ensuring AutoCAD drawings coincide with site dimensions and base building. Space planning development with client consultation and presentation. Furniture, material and finishes selection with client consultation and presentation. Supporting documents: specifications, 3-D diagrams, and project cost summaries. Production and creation of shop drawings for client approvals and order entry. Organizing and submitting specifications/bill of materials that will be used for order entry. Compiling documents for order entry: Project Spec worksheets, Finish Schedules, CET files. Project inspection. Inspection resolution. Final inspection. Job site visits. Pre-installation coordination. Project analysis summaries for reconfigurations. Installation drawings and specifications of new and existing furniture. As-built drawing documentation. Bid preparations. Tracking Time. QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a degree in interior design. Must be proficient in CET and AutoCAD. Must develop knowledge and proficiency in sales and presentation skills. Must be able to assist in the assembly of presentation materials that convey a professional appearance and reflect quality and craftsmanship in coordination of materials and finishes. Must have a good understanding of the mathematics required to successfully complete all phases of the design process. Must be able to perform effectively under a minimum of supervision. Must be able to work effectively as a team player on individual and group projects. Must be open to accepting direction and constructive criticism as a means of gaining the knowledge and experience needed to develop and apply interior design skills.
