Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Adjunct Faculty Member to join our team at Indian River State College. As an Adjunct Interior Design Instructor, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives while driving change in education.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teaching & Grading:
Prepare, instruct, and grade all class coursework, quizzes, tests, and written assignments.
• Student Engagement:
Maintain regularly scheduled office hours online or on campus to meet with students, providing guidance and support.
• Program Development:
Assist with program development, recruiting, and implementing department objectives.
• Committee Participation:
Participate in college committees and support professional advisory committees.
• Student Organizations:
Assist with student organizations and contribute to a vibrant campus life.
• Classroom Management:
Maintain a safe and effective classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Promotional Activities:
Create promotional materials and assist in the recruitment of new students.
• Flexibility:
Assume day or evening teaching assignments as needed.
Specific Duties:
• Deliver final grades and grade justification sheets.
• Participate in department, division, and general adjunct faculty meetings.
• Maintain laboratories in a clean, neat, organized, and healthful condition.
• Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
• Master's degree in interior design.
• Florida State Interior Design License.
• Required field experience.
• The ability to recognize and respond to the individual differences of students from a culturally diverse student population.
• Willingness to make students active partners in the teaching and learning process.
• Teaching experience is preferred.
• All instructors must meet the appropriate credentialing requirements for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
Physical Requirements:
This position requires an ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time and to present oral lectures/demonstrations, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. Some lifting of computer and electronic equipment may be required. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
