Design Manager, Interiors

The Interior Project Design Manager works closely with the entirety of the Design Team to support and execute every scope of work offered to clients. They use their years of experience and expertise to understand our team and our clients, to help achieve hospitality design success. The Director of Interior Design will lead the Interiors Team to deliver outstanding design outcomes, maximum value and design-related resources to clients while maximizing revenue opportunities across the Troon organization in alignment with Troon’s overall business strategy. Job Responsibilities... • Lead and oversee all aspects of the Interiors Design Team (IDT) operations to ensure successful growth of the IDT and outstanding project outcomes in support of Troon’s business strategy • Establish and oversee strategies and methodologies for IDT to deliver best-in-class client service and design outcomes in the most efficient manner possible • Develop strategies for the IDT to optimize the team’s productivity, capabilities and growth in alignment with Troon’s strategic objectives for client acquisition, client retention and financial performance • Oversee definition of service and quality standards for all IDT processes and project deliverables to consistently achieve best-in-class project outcomes • Actively participate with Troon’s Business Development team, as required, in execution of Troon’s business development strategy • Collaborate with the Troon leadership and Business Development team to define IDT service offering and pricing in alignment with Troon’s overall business strategy • Collaborate with the Business Development team to develop and execute a well-defined go-to-market strategy to optimize revenues, profitability and perceived value for IDT services • Collaborate with the Business Development team to establish and deploy an IDT-specific Salesforce lead and opportunity process • Coordinate and ensure full implementation, training and team compliance with IDT Salesforce lead and opportunity process • Oversee and assign IDT business development responsibilities to support defined departmental business development strategy • Participate in industry and Troon events, as appropriate, to elevate reputation and visibility of IDT and Troon overall • Define and oversee execution of IDT new client assignment and on-boarding process to ensure successful project outcomes, optimize productivity of the team and management of IDT bandwidth • Actively lead or participate in IDT projects, as appropriate, to optimize outcomes and client satisfaction • Lead IDT project in the role of Project Manager, as required • Lead the culture of the IDT in alignment with Troon’s mission, Vision and Values • Develop and maintain IDT organizational structure to achieve departmental business strategy while maintaining alignment with IDT business levels • Oversee recruitment, selection and on-boarding of all IDT leaders and staff • Lead IDT staff development strategy to ensure ongoing growth, advancement, retention and job satisfaction for all IDT members • Establish and oversee execution of strategies to leverage outside educational opportunities, industry partners and manufacturer’s resources to ensure IDT stays at the leading edge of design trends, methodologies and materials • Complete annual performance reviews for all IDT team members • Lead coaching, counseling and development, and, as required, progressive discipline, for all IDT members • Oversee all IDT team members meet or exceed established service and quality standards for department • Ensure IDT projects are properly closed-out to ensure maximum client satisfaction, including development of project case studies and visual assets to support future business development efforts • Lead and coordinate any IDT client service recovery efforts, as required • Develop and oversee achievement of IDT annual budget Education / Experience • Management experience leading a service industry department of similar size and scale • 10 years high-level interior design experience • Experience in project management and administration • BA in Design degree Job Knowledge, Skills and Ability Preference • Outstanding organizational skills • Strong business understanding and financial skills • Outstanding creativity • Ability to help clients define and solve the most complex communications problems • Outstanding interpersonal skills • Functional user awareness of Salesforce or similar CRM platform • Fluency in design software platforms CAD, REVIT, Enscape (or similar rendering software), Sketch-Up • Fluency in MS Office Certificates / Licenses • Valid Driver’s License
