LK Design is hiring: Interior Designer in Durham

As an Interior Designer, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing and functional spaces for our clients and overseeing the project from intake to final punch-list. • Involvement in all phases of the design process, including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Client Presentation, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, Procurement and Installation. • Involvement in the development of project budgets, proposals, and project schedules • Responsible for development of working drawings, including furniture plans, interior elevations, millwork details, lighting plans and 3D renderings. Assist with errands and typical studio tasks as needed. Required Skill Set: • At least 5 years in a similar position at a residential interior design firm • Must have Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Interior Design School • Strong proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp) and Office 365 • Experience in remodeling and construction is a big plus • Excellent spatial planning and project management skills • Strong communication and presentation abilities • Knowledge of materials, finishes, and design trends • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects • Professional phone and email etiquette • Common sense and positive life outlook ... and a sense of humor!

• Attend design meetings, assist with note taking, documentation, and interact with clients along with vendors and trades. • Manage project timelines and schedules together with design studio assistant. • Work with design studio assistant on procurement and execution phase of the projects. This position is an in person, in studio hourly position, requiring between 30-35 work hours per week. The expectation is that the successful hire for this role will be promoted to a permanent, full-time position.
