Position:Part-Time Interior Design Assistant Location:Kristin Burke Interiors, 623 E Silver Spring Dr, Whitefish Bay, WI 53217 Reports To:Operations Manager + Principal DesignerAbout the RoleWere seeking a talented and detail-oriented Part-Time Interior Design Assistant to support our design studio with both creative and operational tasks. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about design, highly organized, and eager to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. As a Design Assistant, youll work closely with our Principal Designer and design team to help execute client projects from concept to installationensuring every detail of the client experience feels seamless, thoughtful, and beautifully executed.ResponsibilitiesDesign & Creative Support Assist in developing design presentations and visual concepts via CanvaAssist with CAD or Chief Architect drawings, layouts, and revisionsAssist with sourcing furnishings, finishes, materials, and samples for ongoing projectsHelp prepare client presentations, mood boards, and project documentationCreate detailed photography shot lists for completed projectsHelp style spaces during installations and photoshootsClient Experience & Communication Support client communication, scheduling, and meeting coordinationTake notes during client meetings and update project management systemsHandle thoughtful client touchpoints (gifting, birthdays, thank-you notes, etc. )Assist with creating and organizing client bins and sample kitsProject Management & CoordinationAssist with project documentation, budgeting, and timelinesHelp coordinate with trades, contractors, and warehouse teamsHelp oversee warehouse deliveries, quality checks, and installation prepMaintain the install kit and assist with on-site installations and styling daysSupport occasional project purchasing as directed by the design or procurement teamOffice & Operations Support Maintain and organize the design sample libraryRun local errands and assist with purchasing as neededSupport office maintenance and organization to ensure an inspiring workspaceKey Skills & QualificationsProficiency in design software (CAD or Chief Architect preferred; SketchUp or Adobe Suite a plus)Proficient in Canva and G-SuiteProficient in reading and interpreting architectural plans and drawingsAbility to learn our Project Management SoftwareStrong organizational and multitasking skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationEye for detail and design with a collaborative, team-oriented attitudeStrong understanding of the KBI design aesthetic with the ability to apply it consistently across design presentations, client spaces, and installationsAbility to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectivelyValid drivers license and ability to run local errands as neededCompensation & SchedulePart-time position (20-25 hours per week); flexible hours with potential for growth into a full time positionTeam-based role with an in-studio presence Monday-Thursday, 9AM-3PMCompetitive hourly rate commensurate with experienceIf youre passionate about design, organization, and creating beautiful, functional spaceswed love to hear from you.To apply, please send yourresume,portfolio (if available), and a short note about why this role excites you tobrittney@kristinburkeinteriors.com
