Job Description: Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for an Interior Design Manager at our Irvine, CA facility who will: • Manage the development of the entire automotive Interior from early concept sketch through to production • Be responsible for project timing and budget of the Interior Design Department • Work closely with engineering and suppliers, and manage the design process throughout the development to SOP • Lead a team of Interior Designers • Create visual presentations for each project for development groups, media events and executive management Responsibilities: • Display strong organizational, inter-personal, project management and presentational skills • Apply knowledge of current automotive design trends and technology • Nourish, mentor and challenge Junior and Senior Designers to unlock their full potentials • Manage a digitally driven design process to effectively create compelling Interior Design proposals, both digital and physical • Have an excellent understanding of production vehicle design practices, general vehicle development processes, timing and product cycles • Work with cross-departmental teams and balance design intent with vehicle feasibility • Show passion and dedication to learn and integrate into modern flexible work schedule Experience and Skills: • BS, BFA, MS or MFA in Transportation Design • 8-10 years in the OEM automotive industry • Alias,Photoshop,VRED, Illustrator, Sub-D, MS Office, clay • Have significant concept and/or production cars to his or her name VEVRAA Federal contractor.

Develop design improvement concepts, validate and complete Engineering Order release for HMMA, KAGA, KMX AND HMGMA Plant current production vehicles. Serve as technical design support for HMMA, KAGA, KMX AND HMGMA Plant and local suppliers daily with a creative mindset that will improve our products. Utilize/operate CAE/CAD tools as required. • Prepare detailed project plans, develop supporting budget, and prepare reports for management as required • Report weekly on projects to HATCI Engineering Improvement Team leadership and HMMA, KAGA, KMX AND HMGMA Production Management on behalf of HATCI as assigned. Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for an Interior Engineering Design Intern for the summer to join the Interior Engineering Design team in Superior Township, MI. Essential Duties... • Work with the Interior Engineering Design team on completing tasks related to Interior Components (Cockpit, Trim, Seats) for Vehicle Development Projects • Bill of Materials (BOM), Weight Documents, Design Changes, etc. • Work with Seat Engineers on Advanced R&D projects and specification improvements • Benchmark competitor vehicles to understand design and methodologies and use findings to suggest improvements to HATCI-responsible projects • Cost/Weight reduction, design improvements, etc. Basic Qualifications: • Junior/Senior pursuing Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • Experience using CATIA V5 or other Computer Aided Design tools idea, but not required • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record • Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai and KIA must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
