Interior Engineering Design Intern

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for an Interior Engineering Design Intern for the summer to join the Interior Engineering Design team in Superior Township, MI. Essential Duties... • Work with the Interior Engineering Design team on completing tasks related to Interior Components (Cockpit, Trim, Seats) for Vehicle Development Projects • Bill of Materials (BOM), Weight Documents, Design Changes, etc. • Work with Seat Engineers on Advanced R&D projects and specification improvements • Benchmark competitor vehicles to understand design and methodologies and use findings to suggest improvements to HATCI-responsible projects • Cost/Weight reduction, design improvements, etc. • Create and present reports to Engineers and Management summarizing findings Basic Qualifications: • Junior/Senior pursuing Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent • Experience using CATIA V5 or other Computer Aided Design tools idea, but not required • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record • Candidates applying for positions with Hyundai and KIA must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
