Designer I (Interior Designer)
The primary activity for a Designer-I is to assist in the development of design and/or technical solutions for projects, under the supervision of a team, including a licensed Interior Designer, that contribute to its overall success. Develop interior design skills to include drawing, rendering, and visual/presentation skills Develop a working knowledge of materials and finishes, and assist in the selection of appropriate solutions for projects Hone and advance computer software skills (Revit, Photoshop, sketch-up, word, excel, etc.) Understand key sustainability requirements, and further one’s knowledge of select initiatives Begin to develop an ability to make design and documentation decisions using discretion and good judgement Prepare and produce design and construction drawings, as directed Gain an understanding of building systems, codes, and construction methods Contribute as required to support the success of the studio and firm Encouraged to begin to understand the NCIDQ registration process Collaborate with other Cooper Carry staff/studios as required to meet project objectives. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
