Design Consultant Role The role of Design Consultant is the entry point into design, responsible for engaging customers to support their design projects. This involves conducting design appointments with customers to determine design needs in the selection of tile, wood, stone, and accessory products of various colors textures, patterns, and designs. The Design Consultant will also partner with store leaders to maximize sales goals and expand the design services brand. Key responsibilities include greeting customers in a helpful manner, scheduling design appointments, providing advice on tile, wood, stone, and accessories to homeowners, interior designers, and builders, designing and selling complete solutions, and managing multiple customer projects through all phases with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up communication. This role requires collaboration and partnership with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation, and achieve sales and other goals. Additionally, the Design Consultant will be responsible for understanding and utilizing design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject. Key requirements for this position include 1+ years of retail/customer service experience, high school diploma or GED, proficiency in basic mathematical skills, self-motivation, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The employee will also need basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite. Working Conditions: Limited travel by car, exposure to a warehouse environment, and moderate to noisy noise levels. Physical Demands: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, using hands and fingers frequently, standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
