Technical CAD Designer (Interior Design)

Summary of Position: Within Design emphasizes working with integrity, purpose and a strong commitment to client and team relationships. The Technical CAD Designer participates in furniture space planning as well as creating construction drawings and documentation for model homes and commercial projects. Duties & Essential Functions: Drawings Coordination Understanding Proficiency in x-references, using and updating consulting backgrounds Proficiency in different phases of drawing set up and delivery Proficiency in keeping our technical drawings and folder clean and organized Programming and Presentation Support project programming and updates as needed Specifications and Technical Support Awareness of Interior Design and Space Planning Practices: State and Federal codes, regulations, and ADA Data entry of material specifications for project spec packages Facilitate research and selections of interior specifications and detailing Perform CAD redlines to support the tech team as needed FF&E Design and Design Documentation Per Within Design Standards: set up and prepare complete drawings from architectural plans, produce detailed specifications drawings and elevations, and draft furniture space planning and detailed project documentation Participate in project conceptual design and presentationsLibrary Support Continue to build the CAD Design Library Assist with maintaining design library and resource materials to ensure functional and user friendly environment Use initiative to understand goods/ labor budgets created to manage profitability of each job Perform ongoing quality control to meet company standards Overall Design Department and Company Wide Support Execute ongoing tasks Set up and carry out necessary trainings and presentations Procure supplies for remote and in office presentations Perform additional duties as needed that serve our clients and benefit the company Qualifications & Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in interior design and/or architecture Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar positions- Successfully putting CD set of drawings for commercial projects and model homes. Full working proficiency and knowledge of the following software: AutoCAD, InDesign, Photoshop, and SketchUp Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment with excellent customer service skills Strong communication and active listening skills Critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify appropriate solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
