About this role

About the position The Interior Designer/Space Planner will be responsible for developing designs, specifications, and construction documents for interior scopes of work in government, military, and commercial aviation facilities. This role involves creating and implementing interior design and space planning strategies that integrate seamlessly with architectural and engineering systems. Responsibilities • Develop designs, specifications, and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work. , • Create, design, and implement interior design and space planning strategies. , • Prepare designs, quantity calculations, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for interiors. , • Compile programming data and prepare design plans and renderings. , • Plan and reconfigure furniture layouts. , • Research interior design products and make recommendations. , • Select color, finish, and materials for projects. , • Recommend new ideas, concepts, and methods for design. , • Participate in construction administration activities through site visits and review of submittals. , • Ensure conformance with building standards, architectural practices, and applicable building codes. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a similar field is required. , • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Interior Design or a similar field. , • National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required. , • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. , • Demonstrated knowledge with Revit and other 3-D visualization software such as Enscape and/or Lumion. , • Knowledge of Interior Design specifications, calculations, and industry standards. , • Expertise in using computers for architectural drawings, calculations, and 3-D visual simulations. , • Knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and construction document production.
