Description
The Staff Interior Designer will prepare designs, edit specifications, and prepare conceptual estimates for interior work, repair, and/or renovation of government, airport, and commercial-related facilities. This position creates, designs and implements interior design and space planning strategies and initiatives to ensure fluidity through the completion of the project.
Prepares designs, quantity calculations, designs, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for interiors of aviation and/or federal facilities. Responsible for compiling data, provide elementary design computations, assist with preparation of internal design plans and renderings. Responsible for furniture purchasing and reconfiguration. Researches interior design products and make recommendations. Researches, develops, and selects color, finish, and materials. Responsible for recommending new ideas, formulas and methods. Leads construction administration activities through site visits and review of schedules. Responsible for maintaining conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or similar field Required or Master Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or similar field Required Minimum four years of interior design experience preferred. Demonstrated progress towards achieving NCIDQ certification. Portfolio demonstrating design and graphic presentation skills is preferred. Strong knowledge of standard interior design concepts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a problem-solving environment and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Strong software and computer skills required, including BIM (Revit), Adobe Creative Suite, and 3D rendering software. Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and organization. Demonstrated leadership skills. Valid driver's license Required
