Description
The Senior Interior Designer / Space planner will develop designs, specifications, and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work for a military installation as a contractor. This position serves in a leadership role and drives interior design programming, design, and furniture strategies. The Interior Designer / Space Planner works directly with the engineering... department of the client and assists the project managers.
• Lead designer for interior design of government projects on a military installation.
• Lead designer for the engineering team in the development and execution of projects.
• Works with the COR to develop SOWs and IGEs for interior finishes and furniture.
Qualifications
• Bachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related degree from an accredited program.
• Minimum 8 years of related interior design, interior architecture, space planning and furniture specifying experience
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and design intent construction document production
• Demonstrated knowledge of Interior Design specifications, calculations, industry standards as well as visual, written and oral skills
• A National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.
• Strong programming, design, space planning, construction documentation and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
• Current understanding and application of commercial furniture systems.
• Experience in AutoCAD.
