About this role

Sixteenfifty Creative is looking for a Senior Interior Designer with 7-10 years of experience. We are a hospitality-focused group that can deliver from brand development all the way to interior design. Our ID projects primarily focus on Hotel and F&B; we are also Marriott Autograph and Tribute approved. This is an in-house position at our office in La Jolla. Check out our work at Sixteenfifty.com (password: gnar) The ideal candidate will have direct experience working at a design studio. In a nutshell, this person is (in no particular order): experienced; gnarly; borderline OCD; a genius at multi-tasking; experienced; calm in the midst of chaos; knowledgeable on how to start, stop, and change directions both in-house and with the client; able to navigate through the clutter; uber-organized; able to deal with many different personality types; super dope; ready to jump into any situation, properly assess it, and take control. Direct experience with all of the above is a must for consideration. Responsibilities to include: • Ownership of interior design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documents • Leads & executes design for completion of design projects • Develop space planning concepts and generate program documents • Leads selection of FF&E, finish palettes, executes presentations, and spec writing • Leads client communication and meetings • Create awesome work • Works closely with ownership and our design team to deliver incredible products in a timely manner. • Be a team player Requirements: • 7-10 years of relevant design experience in hospitality and/or residential interior design • Bachelors’ Degree in Interior Design or Architecture • Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills • AutoCAD, Sketchup, Enscape for Sketchup, InDesign, Photoshop, Spec Writing Software like Spexx or similar • Skilled in conceptual thinking, experiential design and storytelling in space • Certification or state licensed is a plus • Expert Knowledge of FF&E, color & materials • Expert Knowledge of custom furniture design, drawings, and specifications • Expert knowledge of creating highly branded presentation packages • Ability to manage and execute a project from start to finish • Ability to interface with clients Salary Range is dependent on experience.
