About this role

Description The Senior Interior Designer / Space planner will develop designs, specifications, and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work of government, military, and commercial aviation facilities. This position serves in a leadership role and drives interior design programming, design, and furniture strategies. The Interior Designer / Space Planner works directly with the client, manages and mentors junior staff, and assists with integrating interior design concepts with architectural and engineering systems. • Lead designer for interior design of government, military, and commercial aviation projects. • Lead a team of junior interior design staff in the development and execution of projects. • Work within a project team of architects and engineers, meeting with clients to assess needs and develop space programs for projects. • Assist with the marketing efforts in pursuing architectural / interior design work. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications • Bachelor Degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related degree from an accredited program. • Minimum 8 years of related interior design, interior architecture experience • Excellent written & verbal communication skills. • Demonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and construction document production • Demonstrated knowledge of Interior Design specifications, calculations, industry standards as well as visual, written and oral skills • A National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required. • Strong programming, design, space planning, construction documentation and leadership skills. • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills. • Current understanding and application of commercial furniture systems. • Experience in Revit required. • Experience in 3-D visualization software such as Enscape and/or Lumin is preferred. • Experience with government and military design standards is preferred.
