About this role

Interior Design firm seeks an experienced Senior Designer. The Designer will assist the Principal in overseeing residential projects with high-end clientele from concept through installation. The position requires direct involvement in every aspect of the design process. Work Scope: -Extensively communicate with Principal and team -Plan, design and supervise major renovations, remodeling and additions -Prepare schemes and sample boards to include, furniture, fabrics, and accessories -Create furniture layouts, perspectives and render for presentation -Build and manage FFE project budgets based on design intent -Review architectural floor plans and elevations for design sign off -Source fabrics, furniture, lighting, fixtures, tile, plumbing fittings & fixtures, and accessories -Prepare spec sheets for all selected and custom items -Prepare proposals for design work including sketches and costs estimates for labor, equipment, and materials -Prepare final designs and specifications within budgetary restrictions -Communicate with clients, vendors, suppliers and contractors -Oversee FFE, manufacturing, construction and installation schedules -Partner with vendors/contractors to achieve design goals -Perform additional requests as they relate to operations Job Requirements: -5 years minimum design experience -Bachelors from accredited interior design program -AutoCAD required, Microsoft Office required, Studio Designer preferred -Strong knowledge of resources in furnishings, materials, accessories, contractors -Able to travel primarily throughout Washington DC Metro area -Must have car -Ideal candidate is motivated, focused, level-headed and adapts with ease to changes in directives -Great interpersonal skills and team-mindset is a must Salary: Commensurate with Experience Job Type: Full-time Job Type: Full-time Benefits: • Paid time off • Professional development assistance • Retirement plan Schedule: • Monday to Friday Experience: • Interior design: 5 years (Required) Ability to Commute: • Bethesda, MD 20816 (Preferred) Ability to Relocate: • Bethesda, MD 20816: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
