About this role

We are seeking an innovative and well-rounded Senior Interior Designer to help contribute to our growing team at Reztark Design Studio in Cincinnati, OH! Our interior designers are responsible for contributing to the entire design process from initial concept through design development, construction documentation and administration. We work across market sectors including mixed-use, retail... multi-family, restaurant, workplace and more. We embrace projects across all scales from ground up architecture and large indoor/outdoor environments to small boutique retail and restaurant experiences. Although each project is unique, at Reztark we strive to carry a common thread through our work –creating a strong sense of place through design that connects people together and fosters a sense of community. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of professional interior design experience and be highly skilled in creating strategic concepts rooted in meaning, collaborating with a cross functional team, and strong presentation skills, while also possessing a foundation of developing a cohesive set of technical drawings to bring the idea to life. As a small team, we seek candidates who are nimble multi-taskers and thrive in a fast-paced environment, balancing a variety of different projects at once. Time management, prioritization of project deliverables, a proactive nature, and good communication are essential to the role in order to deliver quality work with excellent customer service. Millwork and custom furniture or fixture design, material and furniture selection, and specifications are an integral part of this role, so experience is required. We embrace technology to increase efficiency and creativity. The candidate must be proficient in the latest industry standard software programs and open to training if requested. Responsibilities under a supervisor • Take ownership of multiple projects, while supporting senior staff • Help create and establish an interior design vision for new projects • Translate the vision into a design concept through mood boards, sketches, floor plans, 3D models, elevations, renderings, etc. • Confidently articulate the vision to colleagues and clients in design meetings, charettes and client presentations as directed • Take feedback and guidance from design directors, architects and graphic designers and integrate their point of view into the design, adapting the concept based on their input as the entire team is responsible for delivering excellent work. • Select materials and furniture that fit the design concept and meet the functional requirements and needs of the space. • Create high quality 3D renderings utilizing the latest software technologies • Document the design in the DD and CD phase in Revit by generating floor plans, elevations, millwork drawings and wall sections with guidance from design directors and the architecture team. • Create material schedules and furniture specifications • Design and document with an awareness of building codes and ADA requirements. • Take ownership of the documents and details throughout the construction process, ensuring the space is built according to the design vision. • Review shop drawings and construction documents for quality control, with guidance from senior staff • Collaborate with the architecture team to respond to contractor questions, inquiries, RFI’s etc. during the construction process. • Coordinate with reps to set up product updates and lunch and learns & help to keep the material library organized and updated • Attend site surveys, site visit walk-throughs and punch lists The person we are looking for: • Proactive, quality driven, self- motivated, multi-tasker • Balanced left and right brain skillset – creative and artistic problem solver • Excited to work on new types of projects that blend interior design with multiple other disciplines i.e. architecture, graphics & industrial design. • Strong organizational skills and efficient in producing the work • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Detail oriented with a commitment to design excellence • Experience with communicating and presenting to clients is a plus • Confidence and desire to take ownership of projects • Positive and open, collaborative team player • Will prioritize project deliverables to ensure we execute on time • The ability to partner with the design director and project manager to estimate the effort required for the scope of work and budget Required Skills and Education: • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design • 5-8 years experience post-graduation • Basic knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology and architectural/interior material applications. • Basic knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), lighting and signage, to carryout the design concept • Basic knowledge of building regulations, life safety codes and ADA requirements • Basic knowledge of the construction process as it relates to the drawings being produced • Ability to sketch out ideas and iterate on options for team and client evaluation • REVIT experience in a professional setting • Sketchup + Enscape proficiency to create high quality 3D renderings • Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel
