About this role

• Mission: Working closely with the design team to execute and implement all project-associated tasks. A Senior Designer (Level IV) must be able to take a project from start to finish, completing all documentation required from programming through construction administration. They must also be able to lead by example and guide Junior Designers & Interns daily. A Senior Designer is held... accountable for all design documentation the design team produces, knowing their limitations and requesting assistance. You must “master” the DDG design process while confidently understanding what you do not know. • Outcomes 1. Manage the day-to-day tasks of the Junior Designer and Design Intern · Lead Junior Designer to accurately produce documentation for all aspects of the design process for every project. Submit design documents and specifications with a 99% accuracy before review by Project Manager. · Lead Junior Designer and Design Intern to ensure implemented design process is being followed. · Mentor new designers as directed by the Principal · Reports to a manager, head of department, or Principal · Your work is primarily independent, and you may assume lead for the work group 2. Complete process checklists by given deadline 100% of the time and held accountable for all documentation produced. 3. Know our vendors. You must have proficiency in styles and price points regarding all vendors. 'Knowing' a vendor is defined as designing within budget and style. 4. Produce documentation. The following documents must be delivered on time to the Project Manager with at least 95% accuracy: · All design documents · All interior specifications · All client budget sheets, accordions, notebooks, etc. 5. Mastery in DDG Design Process which includes but is not limited to: · Programming o Own the process of existing site measurements and existing furniture/ room photo inventory 1. Enter into AutoCAD and with site measurements o Attend Programming Meeting with Principal and Junior Designer · Schematic Design o Review “yes” fabric inspirations and meeting notes o Own and develop client budget sheet o Organize floor plans and exhibit B for design o Design alongside Principals o Label all selected items ensuring proper attention is made to the location, sizes, etc. per design direction o Update/ create all floor plans, elevations, design details, etc., in AutoCAD o Own and create presentation as needed based on deadlines o Review presentation prior to Principal’s review o Print 24x36 drawing set for presentation o Lead review of presentation setup with Junior Designer · Construction Documents o Collaborate in the selection of all fixed finishes o Own and create a specification binder with all detail, elevation drawings, etc. o Upload specification binder to Dropbox and share with contractor · Design Documents o Price and create all spec sheets o Work with Principal & Project Manager to coordinate trade site visits as needed o Print updated 24x36 floor plans for presentation o Attend presentation o Collaborate with the Principal on the selection of art and accessories o Own and create spec sheets for any reselects after Principal approval · Art + Accessories o Working with Principals to generate an approved Accessory Inventory List within the required budgets o Providing imagery and documentation to provide the “story” behind the selections o Assisting Principals in the procurement of art and accessories · Installation o Attend installation as requested by PM or Principal 6. Requirements: · A bachelor's degree in the field of Interior Design or Architecture · 5+ years of leadership experience · 7+ years of residential and/or hospitality experience within the field of Interior Design
