Job Summary (Per AIA)
Manages projects of all sizes and levels of complexity and provides project team leadership. Responsible for schematic design work. Participates in the design control of projects in the design development, construction document, and supervision phases. Provides direction to lower-level interior designers. Responsible for project budget management and cost control.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead interior design efforts across all project phases, from concept through construction administration.
Manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity, ensuring design excellence and client satisfaction.
Demonstrates a deep understanding of interior programming principles to create spaces that balance
functionality, flow, and purpose-driven design
Develop and present schematic design concepts, space planning, and material palettes.
Oversee the preparation of design development and construction documents, ensuring accuracy and
adherence to project goals.
Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to integrate interior design with architectural and
engineering systems.
Provide mentorship and direction to junior and mid-level interior designers, fostering professional growth and
design quality.
Review and approve interior design drawings, specifications, finish schedules and presentations.
Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring cost adherence and timely delivery.
Conduct product research and selection of finishes
Lead client presentations and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Follow internal processes for client sign offs at key project milestones.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and accessibility standards.
Participate in quality control reviews and resolve design and documentation issues during construction.
Monitor project financial health by tracking fees, budgets, and designer utilization, ensuring projects remain
profitable and resources are aligned with scope and deliverables.
Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies to inform innovative design solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Over 10 years of professional experience required and bachelor’s degree in interior design recommended.
Certification as NCIDQ preferred but not required.
Pay: $91,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
