JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior En viro nmental Designer Hospitality
Summary
We are looking for a highly creative person to join an innovative design team that crafts differentiated hospitality spaces in a competitive focused market. This role is with our Columbus, Ohio studio and is hybrid, requiring a combination of in-office and remote working. Occasional travel may be required from time to time based on client needs.
Responsibilities
Synthesizes information from design briefs and strategic direction
Helps to create concepts based on strategic insight while integrating local relevance via architectural and interior design
Works with team members in developing space plans and furniture layouts to maximize seating while creating variety
Helps select material palettes and upholstery selections
Partners with the architecture team to review shop drawings and coordinate details
Proven material and furniture specifications experience
Participates in the development of initial concepts and executes through final design deliverable, including shop drawing review
Presents to team and client
Required Qualifications and Qualities Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture
Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial interior design projects
Strong portfolio with experience in restaurant design and hospitality
Advanced knowledge in FF&E specifications, manufacturers, and trends specific to the restaurant and hospitality industry
Advanced knowledge of material specifications and lighting manufacturers
Strong experience and knowledge in experiential space planning, furniture layouts and lighting concepts
Experience managing and coordinating external partnerships with vendors and furniture manufacturers
Experience with upholstery selection and detailing, drapery and millwork design
Advanced knowledge of a range of design principles and aesthetics
Advanced sketching and rendering skills
SketchUp and AutoCAD skills required
Revit knowledge strongly preferred
Will be working with a highly collaborative team, must work well with others
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Strong listening skills
Ability to excel under pressure
Must have a critical eye for details
Strong follow up and follow through
