Skills • Proficiency in interior design principles and concepts • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written • Excellent interpersonal skills for building client relationships • Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite • Familiarity with design applications such as Salesforce and proprietary systems • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting • Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus Responsibilities • Lead the design process to create aesthetically appealing solutions • Greet and assist store customers in a helpful manner • Schedule design appointments and develop clientele through networking • Advise customers on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for projects • Manage multiple customer projects with accuracy and timeliness • Collaborate with store leadership and employees on project management • Support all company initiatives by modeling and coaching best practices • Engage with current and emerging design trends • Participate in local professional affiliations • Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications • Minimum of 6 years of interior design experience or a combination of education and experience equivalent to 6 years • Prior retail/sales experience preferred • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree (BA) or Associate’s degree (AA) in Interior Design Education Requirements Credential Category • Interior Design Experience Requirements • 6 years of relevant interior design experience, or a combination of education and experience equaling 6 years • Internal candidates must have at least 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position Why work in Montgomery, AL Montgomery offers a rich blend of history, culture, and Southern hospitality, making it an appealing place to live and work.
