Senior Building Designer Position

Job Opportunity We are seeking an experienced architect to lead various Federal projects. • Examples of architectural work include federal support buildings, DOE facilities, housing projects, maintenance facilities, infrastructure projects, site development, and rapid disaster infrastructure. As an Architect at APTIM, you can expect: • Work that is worthy of your time and talent • Respect and flexibility to live a full life at work and at home • Dogged determination to deliver for our clients and communities • A voice in making our company better • Investment into your personal and professional development Key Responsibilities: • Conduct conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, design calculations, specification development, and construction documents. • Perform project leadership roles and supervise lower-level personnel. • Develop project design basis, specifications, and detailed engineering. • Ensure conformance to Architectural codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures. • Maintain focus on quality outcomes, whether engineering, fabrication, or construction. • Effectively manage communications among other engineering disciplines. • Assume responsibility for project management including budget control. Basic Qualifications: • Requires Bachelor's Degree in Architecture with a minimum of 6 years related experience. • RA required. NCARB Record preferred. • Familiarity with IBC, IECC, UFC, UFGS, MasterSpec, and SpecsIntact, and current on latest engineering and design methods. • Technical knowledge of detail design engineering process. • Strong leadership skills and relationship development skills.
