About this role
Job Description
Calling all design pros who love a beautifully detailed elevation as much as a perfectly executed punch list. We’re on the hunt for a talented, self-driven Designer who can take a project from initial concept through construction and furnishing—no hand-holding required (though we’re a fun bunch to hold hands with if needed). This is a high-touch, high-style role for someone who thrives in the world of luxury residential interiors and knows that the details are the design.
We bring calm to the chaos for our clients, and need someone who thrives in a fast paced environment and is willing (and excited!) to bring in ideas where necessary. This role is perfect for a Designer that would like to make an impact and eventually lead a small team on future projects. While work will primarily be from your home office (we are currently searching to purchase the most perfect studio space!) you will be onsite meeting with clients and vendors in Connecticut.
Job Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in residential interior design and detailing, with a strong background specifying both hard and soft finishes & fixtures
- Proficiency in space planning, interior architecture, and construction documents—you can draft a kitchen plan and coordinate with a GC without breaking a sweat.
- Wizard-level skills in AutoCAD, SketchUp or Chief Architect—you know, the tools that turn ideas into realities.
- Ability to produce precise space plans, FF&E layouts, electrical plans, RCPs, detailed elevations, sections, and even 3D renderings that’ll knock clients’ socks off.
- A sharp eye for style, a head full of fresh ideas, and a natural ability to balance creativity with practicality.
If applying, please email meredith@houseofhuck.com with the subject LA&FD and a copy of your resume and recent work to be considered.
