About this role

The Purchasing Agent aids in the procurement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment for architecture and interior design projects. This position works directly with Interior Designers to research and compare products, suppliers, and services and assist in creating purchase orders and tracking products from order to installation. This role performs instrumental administrative tasks to ensure the... smooth operation of the design process. The role is ideal for an individual with 2 years of experience in a similar role or a current Interior Design B.S. or A.S student within 1-2 years of graduation. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for acquiring samples and pricing for multiple mid to large scale projects and ensuring that accurate information is input into purchasing software to be processed into purchase orders. Key responsibilities include tracking samples, approval documents, and shipping information of all furniture, fabrics, fixture, and equipment. Documenting decisions and assisting in the development and optimization of archive records. Additionally, this role will assess supplier profiles and analyze quotes, keep supplier records up to date, prepare and submit detailed reports, keep updated records, and organize data for multiple projects for easy access and review. Furthermore, this role will have the opportunity to assist the Interiors Librarian in organizing library samples and keeping vendor lists updated in our studio’s Interiors Library. This position is a full-time hourly, overtime non-exempt position. This position is expected to work 30 to 40 hours a week depending on the available workload. This position pays $23/hr.
