Project Manager – Architecture and Interiors

Description Your Role As a Gensler Project Manager with our team in Miami, you will leverage your attention to detail and interpersonal skills to deliver exceptional client projects on time and within budget. Grow your project management experience while working on trendsetting projects across practice areas from Workplace, Professional Services, Financial Services, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Retail & Consumer Experience. A focus for the role will be managing multiple fast-paced mid-size projects or singular large, complex projects. The ideal candidate for this role will have strong project management skills and experience in diverse practice areas with the ability to bridge architecture and interior design disciplines, guiding multidisciplinary teams through all phases of project delivery to achieve a cohesive and fully integrated built environment. What You Will Do Lead architecture and interior design deliverables on projects, working with Design Directors, Technical Directors, and project teams for all phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administrationCollaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives   Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions Manage client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination Advance the understanding that design resilience is a responsibility of every person at Gensler Actively support firmwide sustainability and resilience goals, guiding clients and project teams toward multi-benefit resilient design solutionsCultivate design expertise with the desire to always learn, grow, and evolve Manage project teams for multiple projectsEstablish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationshipsEngage directly with clients in coordination with client or client stakeholders to assure approvalsManage project scheduling, staffing/productivity, budgets, project set-up with clients, sub-contractors, vendors, and consultantsTrack the financial performance of projects and ensure the projects conform to the contractPrepare project proposal, negotiate fees, and contracts Support bidding and permitting processesCreate and communicate clear and attainable project objectives and requirementsActively mentor the next generation of leadership by inspiring, empowering, and leading by exampleAdvance an integrated design culture on your projects within the studio, including mentoring, resource management, discourse, initiative support, and recruitment of new team membersWhile design management and project leadership is this position’s primary focus, production of graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings may also be required as needed to support the team Your Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Interior Design from an accredited program10+ years of relevant experience within a commercial architecture and design firm paired with at minimum 4 years as a Project Manager managing projects with financial accountabilityProfessional license or certification preferredLEED accreditation preferredExperience leading the design and delivery of commercial base building and interior architecture projects in Workplace, Professional Services, Financial Services, Healthcare, Hospitality, and/or Retail & Consumer Experience buildings/spacesExperience leading projects of a variety of scales, and mentoring and collaborating with Interior Designers and ArchitectsStrong leadership, organization, communication, and interpersonal management skillsAbility to develop collaborative relationships across the firm, with clients, and with other key constituentsCommitment to a collaborative design processExperience negotiating project scope and feesKnowledge of local building codes and standardsProven experience mentoring and coaching junior team membersProven experience building trust with clients and developing client relationships This role is not remote or hybrid; we look forward to working with our new team member in our incredible Miami office space.  Notice: At Gensler, a Project Manager will have the job title of Design Manager and operate in this capacity for alignment with internal programs, doing business with clients and compliance with industry and government regulations.
