The job will be based from the company's office in Brentwood, Tennessee. Job Title: Project Interior Designer II Reports To: Design Principal Education/Experience Requirements: • Bachelors Degree in Interior Design from a 4-year accredited interior design program - required • 3+ years of full-time commercial interior design experience - required • 3+ years of full-time hospitality interior design experience - preferred • NCIDQ certified or on path to certification - preferred Summary: • Establishes interior design programming parameters based on Client requirements and guidance from firm leadership. • Generates and develops overall interior design concepts; formulates digital visual design presentations. • Advise on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings or equipment, and color coordination. • Complete site surveys and field verifications. • Carries out interior design process for entire project consistent with project’s program, budget and schedules; coordinates with internal team members and vendors. • Develop schematic renderings for client presentations using Revit. • Select and specify furnishings, finishes, fixtures, accessories, draperies, artwork, and related items. • Assists in coordination with consultants, furniture dealers, product reps and fabricators to meet overall project objectives. • Write and review specifications for FF&E and finishes using Spexx software. • Versed in detailing (cabinetry/millwork/custom or thematic elements) • Experience selecting and specifying lighting, furnishings, hardware, floor/window coverings, materials, and finishes. • Use computer-aided drafting (CAD and Revit) and related software to produce accurate and professional construction documents. • Works with project team to review work for design integrity, accuracy, clarity, and quality. • Responsible for some communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to incorporate all information into project requirements. • General understanding and proficiency with building codes, ADA requirements, and electrical/data requirements. • Participates in product presentations to maintain knowledge of industry drivers, products and materials available in the market • Assist with review of RFIs and submittals during the Construction Administration Phase • Recognizes the financial aspect of a project and basic accounting principles involved in ensuring the project and firm’s profitability. • Understands the importance of growing and maintaining client relationships and the basic concept of business development. Skills: • AutoCAD and/or Revit • Specification writing • Knowledge of finishes, materials, furnishings and hospitality brand standards • Ability to effectively create presentations and communicate design concepts to clients and hotel franchisor's design review departments • Organization/Planning/Time Management • Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Photoshop/In Design • Math Aptitude/Budgeting • Attention to detail and highly organized • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment • Friendly and professional communication skills, both verbal and written • Proven ability to build successful relationships with teammates, product vendors, and clients Work Conditions: • Full Time • Travel is minimal. Approximately 10 business days per year including annual industry trade-show, project site visits, vendor manufacturing facility tours, and annual all-team meeting.
