Job Title: Project Designer III Reports To: Owner/Design Principal... Remote Work Status: The ideal candidate is local to the Nashville area, with the ability to commute to the firm's Brentwood location at least 3 days per week. Summary: Join our dynamic team as a Project Designer III, where creativity meets expertise in hospitality interior architecture and design! In this role, you'll be the mastermind behind establishing interior design programming parameters, blending client and hotel brand requirements with the guidance of AK Design Group's esteemed leadership team. Use your creativity to develop interior design concepts and schematics, bringing them to life through digital visual design presentations. Your role will involve providing expert advice on essential interior design factors such as space planning, layout, and the artful utilization of furnishings, equipment, and color coordination. You'll carry out the entire interior design process for projects, ensuring harmony with the program, budget, and schedules. Utilize your knowledge of furnishings, finishes, fixtures, accessories, draperies, artwork, and more, and coordinate seamlessly with consultants, dealers, reps, and fabricators to achieve project success and beautiful spaces. Skills: - AutoCAD and/or Revit - Specification writing, Spexx or other similar software - Knowledge of finishes, materials, furnishings, hospitality brand standards - Transform data into engaging presentations for clients and hotel franchisor's design review - Master organization, planning, and time management - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Photoshop/InDesign - Math aptitude and budgeting skills - Impeccable attention to detail and organizational prowess - Collaborate effectively within a dynamic team environment - Exhibit friendly and professional communication skills, both verbal and written - Proven ability to build successful relationships with teammates, product vendors, and clients - Navigate the intricacies of detailing (cabinetry/millwork/custom or thematic elements) - Showcase experience in selecting and specifying lighting, furnishings, hardware, floor/window coverings, materials, and finishes - Handle quotes, proposals, budgets, purchase orders, and the purchasing process with finesse - Lead or manage a project with minimal guidance - Train and lead other team members in Project Designer I or II positions - Advocate for a strong, positive office culture and support leadership and initiatives Education/Experience: - Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from a 4-year CIDA accredited interior design program - required - 5+ years of full-time commercial interior design experience - preferred - 5+ years of full-time hospitality interior design experience – preferred - On the path to NCIDQ certification - preferred Work Conditions: - Full Time - Minimal travel – approximately 10-15 business days per year, including industry trade-shows, project site visits, vendor facility tours, and the annual all-team meeting.
