The BFA and MFA Interior Design programs at Pratt prepare students to engage in critical inquiry of occupied space through theoretical and applied research, establishing them as innovators and leaders in the field of interior design. The curriculum addresses emerging and innovative technologies, interdisciplinary collaboration, sustainable practices, and issues of ethical and social responsibility which point to the larger potentials of professional practice, design education, and our evolving understanding of the built environment. We encourage applicants with expertise in the following areas: • DESIGN STUDIOS: introductory, practice based, and theoretical studios. • CONSTRUCTION: all aspects of the constructed environment. • SUSTAINABLE DESIGN SYSTEMS/PROCESSES MATERIALS • COLOR MATERIALS • LIGHTING • DIGITAL/ANALOG 2D 3D REPRESENTATION • EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES • HISTORY | THEORY | RESEARCH • INTERDISCIPLINARY AND COLLABORATIVE DESIGN • COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT | SOCIAL JUSTICE: • OTHER SPECIALIZED FIELDS OF DEPARTMENTAL INTEREST Pay Rate: $1,721 - $2,214 per contact hour Applicants are required to have a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, related fields or equivalent experience in practice. Previous post-secondary teaching experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal skills, a demonstrated level of intercultural competence, and ability to work well with diverse populations.
