About The Role The Senior Designer – FF&E is a pivotal role in our design team, leading the creative and technical aspects of FF&E design for luxury hospitality projects. This individual will guide projects from concept to installation, ensuring design excellence and alignment with client expectations. The Senior Designer will supervise and mentor junior staff while bringing advanced expertise in materials, furnishings, and specifications to the team. Key Responsibilities • Establish creative direction for interior design projects. • Custom design FF&E elements, including furniture, lighting, and carpets. • Inspire and drive creativity across all design efforts. • Develop and refine design concepts for further execution by the team. • Review and provide feedback on designs, drawings, and specifications. • Direct the preparation of FF&E specifications and oversee production. • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables from start to finish. • Supervise, mentor, and train junior designers and interns. • Ensure project alignment with client goals, brand standards, and company policies. • Research design inspiration and source high-end materials, furnishings, and artwork. • Develop FF&E budgets and maintain cost control throughout the project. • Create, organize, and oversee FF&E specification books and matrices. • Approve shop drawings, submittals, and carpet seaming diagrams. • Manage installations of furniture, artwork, and accessories on-site. • Lead client meetings, creative presentations, and conference calls. • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, and purchasing agents. • Facilitate weekly design team meetings and maintain project documentation. • Communicate project expectations clearly with all stakeholders. • Conduct site visits to verify field conditions and oversee installations. • Provide creative input during meetings and share innovative ideas. • Execute all tasks with professionalism, care, and attention to detail. • Continuously improve processes and contribute to team success. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited program preferred. • 8–12+ years of experience in professional interior design or architectural settings, with a focus on hospitality. • Advanced design skills with a strong understanding of proportion, scale, and color. • Expertise in sourcing, specifying, and budgeting high-end FF&E. • Proficient in REVIT, CAD, SPEXX, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite. • Skilled in hand sketching and developing detailed design concepts. • Familiarity with International Building Codes and ADA regulations. • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with precision and efficiency. • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
