About Company Parker-Torres Design, a Baker Barrios Company, is an international interior design and interior architectural firm specializing in Hospitality design. Formed in 2004 by Barbara Parker and Miriam Torres, each partner has more than 30 years of hospitality design experience and a team of 25+ award-winning designers. About The Role The Designer - FF&E will focus on sourcing, documenting, and executing FF&E and interior finishes for projects while collaborating with project team leaders. The ideal candidate is well-versed in industry standards, emerging technologies, and materials. They should stay informed about marketplace innovations and regularly engage with professional journals. Key Responsibilities • Design custom FF&E elements, such as furniture, lighting, and carpets. • Research and source inspiration from installations, manufacturers, and industry trends. • Select and specify FF&E, including furniture, fabrics, finishes, decorative lighting, artwork, and accessories. • Prepare and manage FF&E specifications, matrices, and specification books. • Oversee the approval process for shop drawings, submittals, and CFA's. • Assemble and maintain an organized file system for documentation and approvals. • Contribute to design concepts and prepare plans, elevations, and presentation renderings. • Participate in design meetings, site visits, and field verification tasks. • Prepare material finish boards and collaborate on presentations. • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve team processes and standards. • Ensure timely and professional completion of all assigned responsibilities. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred. • 3–7 years of professional experience in an interior design or architectural firm, with hospitality design experience preferred. • Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and hand sketching. • Strong knowledge of both traditional and contemporary styles of materials, furnishings, and finishes. • Familiarity with International Building Codes and ADA regulations. • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. • Strong verbal, written, and visual presentation communication skills. • Ability to manage FF&E budgets and project costs effectively. • Self-motivated, proactive team player with exceptional time management. • Versatility, open-mindedness, and a willingness to learn and grow. • Ability to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
