Paint and Interior Design Specialist

General Summary: The Paint and Interior Design Specialist is responsible for engaging and assisting customers in our paint department. This includes, but not limited to, sharing knowledge of paint, textures and textiles, and home furnishing solutions as well as merchandising, maintaining, and stocking product that are focused on growing the business through visual impressions and creativity. The Paint and Interior Design Specialist will also be responsible for register transactions of merchandise. Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements: Customer Service Project a positive representation of Wexford Ace Hardware. Greet customers entering and throughout the store. Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates. Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously, and effectively. Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance. Continually build product knowledge base and assist customers with store layout and product location. Assist in pricing, stocking, marking, and bagging of merchandise. Register Operations Follow all cash register transaction procedures. Responsible for balancing of register drawer. Adhere to any Store promotions that may require implementation in the Lawn and Garden department. Participate in store meetings. Store Appearance and Upkeep Keep the store and stock room, including checkout areas, assigned department, and entrance doors, neat and clean at all times. Assist with keeping the Paint Department stocked with merchandise. Respond for cart pickups when necessary. Perform all other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements High School or GED equivalent. Sales experience preferred, but not required. A commitment to service, excellence and customer satisfaction. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance. Continually build product knowledge base and assist customers with store layout and product location. Assist in pricing, stocking, marking, and bagging of merchandise and live goods. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for an extended period of time. Move and handle boxes of merchandise.
