About this role

ADG Design Studio, a division of Atlanta Design Group, Inc. (ADG) headquartered in Norcross, GA has an immediate opening for a Model Home Designer reporting to the Studio Director. This is a NEW position launching Home Staging and Model Homes for Builders and Design-Build. A Model Home Designer collaborates with clients to create visually appealing and functional model homes, focusing on interior design elements like floor plans, color schemes, and material selections, while adhering to budgets and timelines. Key Responsibilities of a Model Home Designer: • Client Communication & Collaboration: • Understand client needs, preferences, and project requirements. • Present design concepts and proposals to clients. • Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the design process. • Design & Planning: • Develop detailed design plans, including floor plans, elevations, and 3D models. • Select materials, furnishings, and finishes, such as flooring, paint, lighting, countertops, cabinets, and appliances. • Create detailed installation drawings for subcontractors. • Ensure designs comply with local building codes and regulations. • Project Management: • Manage project timelines and budgets. • Oversee the installation of design elements. • Address any design issues or changes in the field. • Manage all assigned projects from kickoff to completion, meeting deadlines. • Technical Skills: • Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp). • Knowledge of building codes and regulations. • Understanding of building systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical). • Experience with 3D architectural modeling programs. • Other Skills: • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. • Creative and detail oriented. • Ability to solve problems.
