About this role
West Hollywood high-end interior design firm is looking for a mid-level designer to join our team long term. To be successful in this position the candidate will need background in design, architecture and/or construction. The Designer will be assisting the project lead with overseeing projects from start to finish and will work closely with the lead designer and owner in our West Hollywood office. Luxury residential, hospitality and/or commercial design experience a must. Knowledge of high-end furniture vendors and sources, custom furniture production is required. This is a growing position within an extremely high-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with interior design assignments that include conceptual design, schematic design, design development & construction documents.
- Maintain & monitor project profitability and schedule adherence.
- Coordinate and manage project communications, contracts, budgets and schedules.
- Liaise with client representatives, legal teams, project managers, subcontractors, vendors & other 3rd parties.
- Monitor the progress of the team, evaluate team performance, and provide timely, effective feedback to the team.
- Partner with owner and other team members to impart, implement and monitor interior design standards.
- Identify the client's project goals, objectives and communicate this information to the project team.
- Assemble the project team and assign roles to team members.
- Oversee production of all custom furnishings, manage all relevant manufacturers, and insure timely delivery of product for job installations.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Degree in architecture, interior design, or construction or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a firm in an luxury interior design, production or management role.
- Strong leadership of complex projects and managing project team.
- Expert written & verbal communications skills.
- Excellent business acumen.
- Complex problem solving & creative solution skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing business environments, solve problems and take advantage of opportunities to minimize project costs, maintain construction schedules and improve quality of completed facilities.
- Proficient with AutoCAD & Studio Designer software a plus
- Knowledge of FF&E
- Knowledge of furniture specifications
POSITION
- Full time, salaried position. Salary based on experience.
- Health, dental benefits available after 90 days per ACA.
