About this role

Award winning, Local commercial interior design firm- seeking an interior designer with experience · Work as assist on larger projects under a Senior Designer (Lead) · Run select projects as Lead Designer with the assist of a Senior Designer (to oversee project development) – Through all phases of design · Work hand in hand with Senior Design team members (Including Lead Designer, Director of Design, and Account Executive) · Work as client contact on select projects (Assigned by Director of Design and Account Executive) · Select furniture, materials, accessories, and finishes while keeping within project budget and/or work with Senior Designer (Lead) to make selections and maintain budget · Create and continually update spec sheets · Obtain pricing and quotes from vendors · Work with AutoCAD department to create plans, elevations, and schedules · Review and redline drawings as needed on Lead projects · Create, prepare, and participate in client presentations on Lead projects · Assist Senior Designer (Lead) with creation of client presentation · Attend weekly design meetings · Prepare and maintain project files, correspondence, drawings, etc. · Create and maintain DD Millwork binder · Take ownership of budgeted hours and project schedule on Lead projects · Delegate work to junior staff with approval from Senior Designer (Lead) or Director of Design · Attend on-site field dimension trips including site surveys and framewalks as needed per project · Attend Fabrication related meeting to represent Interior Design for Lead projects or if requested by Senior Designer (Lead) · Assist with installations on select projects as needed Education & Experience • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an architectural or commercial interior design environment • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in interior design, interior architecture, or related field Required Technical Skills • High proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office and Sketchup, Revit a plus • General knowledge in drafting interior design drawing packages including finish plans and material specification, schedules, RCP, and electrical plans • Knowledge of construction materials and methods • Understanding industry standards, construction methods, and technical systems Design Knowledge • Knowledge of design process and phasing procedures • Working knowledge of space planning and design methodology • Working knowledge of the application of color, materials and aesthetic form • Knowledge of contract furnishing requirements and sourcing • Knowledge of creating budgets and tracking budgets in design • Working knowledge of furniture specifications, including window treatments and installation Codes & Compliance · Knowledge of ADA and life safety codes Project Coordination & Independence · Ability to coordinate with product vendors, makers, fabricators, and installers · Self-starter · Ability to work in teams and independently Communication & Presentation · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Excellent organization and attention to detail · Strong presentation skills, both visual and verbal Please forward resume with portfolio and references.
