Looking for Interior Designers

Our award-winning Annapolis based Interior Design firm is currently seeking a full-time Junior Designer and or Staff Designer. The ideal candidate will be experienced in AutoCAD, hand drafting and Microsoft Office Suite. He/she will assist with reselections and should be proficient in furniture/accessory pulling. The ideal candidate should have basic knowledge of architectural detailing and be able to read plans proficiently. This person should have knowledge of vendor resources and understand the function and feel of a design. Must have exceptional organizational skills, the ability to multitask and successfully work in a fast-paced environment. Must possess an interior design degree. General Responsibilities 1\\. Hand drafting skills, including space planning and working knowledge of CAD 2\\. Proficient in furniture/accessory placement 3\\. Functionality/understanding of the function of the designed spaces 4\\. History of design – can define the style and feeling of a design 5\\. Knowledge of marketing statement/lifestyle elements 6\\. Proficiency in paperwork, budget guidelines, paper processes throughout project 7\\. Knowledge of vendor resources and communication with vendors and sub- contractors 8\\. Ability to follow through, effective decision making, effective/responsible communication to foster good team interaction 9\\. Establish a personal image and refine client interaction skills 10\\. Handle a job from beginning to end – schematic design, design development, ordering, installation and follow up 11\\. Proficient design presentation skills 12\\. Comfortable creating and presenting scopes to clients 13\\. Responsibility for understanding and meeting design budget 14\\. Understand the architectural detailing of the space, read plans proficiently 15\\. Development of time management skills 16\\. Works independent without Junior Designer support 17\\. Able to do window treatments and calculations with hardware in Residential Dept. 18\\. Able to do window treatments and confirm calculations with hardware in Builder Dept. 19\\. Designs independently on a smaller scale than a Senior Designer (initially) in Residential Department 20\\. Designs independently on a smaller volume than a Senior Designer (initially) in Builder Department 21\\. Continues to support a Senior Designer, as required 22\\. Must be able to perform all installation duties without supervision Requirements: 1\\. Minimum of 4-year degree in Interior Design
