Lead Interior Designer
Plan Architecture, located in Township of Washington, New Jersey seeks a highly motivated, organized, and creative Lead Interior Designer to work closely with the design team, including Senior Interior Designers and Junior Interior Designers, in all aspects of our projects – from design development through completion. We are looking for a positive personality who can actively lead and manage a project from start to finish whilst managing client expectations & team communications. Must have experience in interior design, along with project management, new construction, and renovation experience. The ideal candidate is confident, a team player, and has a passion for well thought-through design. Responsibilities include initial project lead meetings, site surveys, concept development, collaboration with the design & architecture team, FF&E specification, project management, client meetings, communication with vendors, contractors, and clients. Must be able to draft & oversee the development of technical drawings for furniture plans, custom millwork, custom furniture, tile layouts, plumbing locations, etc.
Qualifications
• Minimum 7 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in interior design
• Project management, new construction, and renovation experience
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, fun environment
• Strong organization & time management skills
• A team player with a willingness to learn & guide junior members of the team
• Strong communication/interpersonal skills
• Self-starter who can work independently
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, Photoshop, Sketchup, & the Microsoft Suite
• Knowledge of high-end furniture, finishes, materials, and fabricators
Job Responsibilities
• Own day-to-day operations for ongoing projects
• Manage multiple high-end residential interior design projects from conception to completion
• Oversee all phases of each project, including conceptual design to construction administration to installations
• Assist in scheduling, preparing, and leading design meetings with clients
• Collaborate with and manage communications with architects, contractors, workrooms, fabricators, artisans, and clients
• Develop furniture plans, renderings, technical drawings for custom millwork, custom furniture, tile layouts, and plumbing locations
• Research, design, selection, specification, & documentation of furniture, fixtures, lighting, finishes, millwork, etc.
• Ensure project deliverables are met & the project remains on schedule and on budget
• Coordination of timelines, order deliveries, and installations
• Lead client meetings
