We mainly serve the East Bay but are rapidly expanding to encompass San Francisco and the North Bay as well. Learn more at: Position Summary The Lead Interior Designer will work closely with agents and clients to understand design vision for the home. They will need to create floor plans, site plans, elevations and design specifications in order to communicate the design to Project Managers, purchasing dept and trades people. This will include cabinet design and ordering, window specification and ordering, as well as FF&E selections. Job Description: • Use CAD (or equivalent program) to create functional floor plans and elevations including dimensions. • Design and specify cabinetry for the kitchen and other areas of the home (includes interfacing with our cabinet supplier to ensure the correct components are ordered). • Attend all design-related meetings such as Discovery Meetings with clients, Project Management meetings, and Initial Project Kickoffs. Capture meeting details in notes and take action as necessary in accordance with the Lead Designer. • Specify fixtures and finishes typically required in interior design and coordinate with procurement to ensure all item orders have been accounted for and will arrive in a timely manner. • Assist Project Management throughout the construction phase with procurement needs, provide spec sheets and product specifications, regular site visits, and manage client communication. • Personal Learning: Takes personal responsibility for the continuous learning of new knowledge, skills, and experiences • Create mood boards or other visualizations to convey design concepts to clients. • Select materials, finishes, furniture, and fixtures while considering functionality, sustainability, and aesthetic appeal. • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other professionals to ensure designs meet building codes, regulations, and project requirements. • Manage and coordinate the implementation of design concepts, including working with permit expeditors to acquire building permits. • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and feedback throughout the design process. • Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technology advancements to incorporate innovative ideas into designs. • Conduct site visits to assess spaces, take measurements, and gather information necessary for design development. Requirements: • At least one year of related experience is required. • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar tools. • Proficiency with google sheets. • Strong creative thinking, problem-solving, and visualization skills. • Ability to apply a sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing interiors. • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and sustainability practices. • Bachelor’s degree or certification in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field (preferred). • Proven experience in interior design, with a portfolio showcasing completed projects (preferred).
