Lead Drapery Artist

Base Pay + Uncapped Departmental Revenue Share Las Vegas, Nevada | Full-Time AG Interior Designs is a high-end custom interiors workroom serving residential designers and homeowners throughout the Southwest. We are seeking an experienced Custom Drapery Workroom Manager to lead the day-to-day production of our drapery department in Las Vegas. This is a technical, hands-on leadership role for someone who understands custom residential drapery from the inside out. Our ideal candidate knows how to take a custom drapery job from specifications to finished product, prepare the production paperwork, calculate deductions and finished measurements, create workroom tickets, perform quality-control checks, troubleshoot unusual fabrication issues, and direct the daily workflow of a skilled production team. Our workroom already has experienced drapery artists handling sewing and fabrication. The manager’s primary responsibility is to make sure the department runs smoothly, accurately, and efficiently — while also having the technical ability to step into production, demonstrate techniques, and train others when needed. What You Will Do Prepare production paperwork and workroom tickets for custom drapery jobsCalculate deductions, finished lengths, and other production measurementsAssign work and direct the day-to-day workflow of approximately 5–10 drapery artistsMonitor jobs as they move through production and keep the workroom moving efficientlyPerform quality-control checks throughout production and before completed work leaves the workroomTroubleshoot technical fabrication issues and unusual custom projectsProvide hands-on training and technical guidance when neededCoordinate with our internal production coordinator regarding department prioritiesMaterial procurement, sales, and customer communication are handled by other team members. Jobs enter the drapery production queue once materials have been received and the job is ready for fabrication. What We Are Looking For Demonstrated experience in custom residential drapery is requiredStrong hands-on knowledge of custom drapery fabrication and workroom methodsAbility to independently prepare production paperwork, calculate deductions and finished measurements, and create accurate workroom instructionsAbility to personally fabricate custom drapery and train others when neededStrong eye for quality, detail, proportion, and finished presentationAbility to organize work and direct a skilled production teamComfortable troubleshooting complex or unusual custom jobsExperience with a broad range of products is preferred, including lined and interlined panels, blackout drapery, sheers, ripplefold, pinch pleat, Roman shades, cornices and valances, motorized drapery, and similar custom workPrior formal management experience is not required if you have strong technical knowledge and are ready to lead a workroomBilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred. Highly qualified candidates fluent in only English or only Spanish will also be consideredMust be authorized to work for a U.S. employerCompensation & Schedule This position offers a competitive hourly base rate plus an uncapped departmental revenue share tied to the drapery work moving through the department. We want the person leading the workroom to directly participate in the department’s success and growth. The position is approximately 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Overtime is sometimes available but is never required. Additional benefits include 10 days of paid time off per year. AG Interior Designs does not currently offer employer-sponsored health, dental, or vision insurance. Location This position is based in our Las Vegas, Nevada workroom and requires regular in-person presence. Some administrative paperwork may occasionally be completed remotely, this is primarily an on-site position. We welcome applicants from anywhere in the United States. Candidates who do not currently live in Las Vegas must be willing to relocate at their own expense.
