Our client is seeking a talented Junior Interior Designer to join a collaborative design studio working across residential, hospitality, and mixed-use projects. This position is ideal for a designer who enjoys contributing to all phases of the design process—from concept development to construction administration—within a creative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate closely with project teams throughout all phases of design.
• Develop design concepts in alignment with project goals and overarching design direction.
• Assist with programming, space planning, and early-phase design studies.
• Prepare design presentations, including mood boards, plans, sketches, 3D views, and finish/furniture selections.
• Research and source materials, finishes, and furnishings that support project concepts and technical requirements.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and industry partners.
• Create interior finish specifications and contribute to the development of millwork and architectural details.
• Apply redlines and updates to drawing files as directed by senior team members.
• Participate in regular project coordination meetings.
• Understand and reference client guidelines related to design, drawings, and specifications.
• Assist with the production of construction documents, specifications, and detailed drawings.
• Demonstrate knowledge of relevant codes, industry standards, and accessibility guidelines.
• Provide support during construction and installation phases.
• Manage responsibilities across multiple projects in various stages of development.
• Travel may be required.
Skills & Experience
• Clear, organized verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of project phases, workflows, and deliverables.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, DesignSpec, Revit, and BIM 360.
• Ability to communicate design intent through 3D modeling platforms such as SketchUp, Rhino, 3ds Max, or Revit.
• Familiarity with rendering tools such as Enscape, D5, Lumion, or VRay.
• Ability to support procurement tasks when needed, including purchase orders and vendor coordination.
Qualifications
• Degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
• 3–5 years of experience in at least one of the following sectors: hospitality, condominium developments, food & beverage, or high-end residential design.
• LEED or NCIDQ certification encouraged.
