JOB DESCRIPTION: Junior Interior Designer Department: Design Reports Through: Design Director Coordinates With: Owners, Project Managers and Office Manager _________________________________________________________ JOB OBJECTIVE & DESCRIPTION The Junior Interior Designer will work closely with our Design Director to bring concepts to life, assisting in all aspects of the design process. This role requires a passion for interior design, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in design software. The ideal candidate will possess creativity, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit, eager to contribute to creating stunning and functional interior spaces. __________________________________________________________ ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Collaborate with Design Director to develop interior design concepts, mood boards, and presentations for client projects. 2. Assist in space planning, furniture layout, and material selection for commercial spaces. 3. Research and source furniture, fixtures, finishes, and accessories to meet project requirements and budget constraints. 4. Create detailed drawings, renderings, and specifications to communicate design intent to clients, contractors, and vendors. 5. Support the procurement process by obtaining quotes, placing orders, and tracking deliveries to ensure project timelines are met. 6. Assist in site visits and meetings with clients, contractors, and suppliers to provide support and gather relevant information. 7. Organize and maintain design samples, materials library, and project documentation. 8. Contribute to the preparation of design presentations and marketing materials for client meetings and presentations. 9. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable design practices. 10. Provide administrative support to the Ferry Design Studio, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and coordinating meetings. __________________________________________________________ KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 1. Ability to navigate design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and/or Adobe Creative Suite. 2. Strong understanding of interior design principles, space planning, and construction documentation. 3. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. 4. Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for design excellence. 5. Effective communication skills, both verbal and visual, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively. 6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when necessary. 7.
