Junior Interior Designer with AutoCAD Expertise

Description Join our award-winning Annapolis-based Interior Design firm as we seek dedicated Interior Design Assistants. The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in AutoCAD and hand drafting, with a strong ability in space planning. A solid understanding of architectural detailing and the capability to read plans are essential. You will assist designers in selecting fabrics, furniture, wallpaper, and accessories, while effectively managing paperwork and budget guidelines throughout projects. Being well-organized and capable of multitasking is crucial, as is collaborating within a team and working independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required. Requirements • A minimum of a 4-year degree in Interior Design. • 2-5 years of experience is preferred. General Responsibilities • Hand drafting skills, including space planning and working knowledge of CAD. • Basic knowledge of architectural detailing and proficient reading of plans. • Proficiency in furniture and accessory placement. • Ability to shop and pull independently for various projects and demographics. • Understanding the functionality and feel of designed spaces. • Ability to define style and emotional impact of a design based on design history. • Knowledge of marketing statements and lifestyle elements in design. • Proficiency in managing project paperwork and budget guidelines. • Knowledge of vendor resources and communication with vendors and subcontractors. • Ability to follow through with effective decision-making and communication to promote a positive team environment. • Assist designers with reselections of fabrics, wallpaper, and furniture as needed. • Communicate any customer service issues to a customer service representative. • Assist with design and calculations for window treatments in various departments.
