Education and experience:
You must have a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), a BFA in Interior Design, BSc in Interior Design, Bachelor of Architecture or similar, with 1 to 3 years’ post-graduate experience.
Role outline:
As a junior designer you will be supporting a team of skilled designers and architects, all of whom are led by a senior designer. You are expected to be ‘hands-on’ in your approach whilst using your initiative to complete tasks with a calm natured response.
Required skills:
• Self-motivated but also a good team member who is able to work quickly and efficiently in an organised manner
• Good knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and Sketchup. Enscape is a plus
• Understanding of FF&E selection (materials, finishes, detailing and scheduling)
• Ability to understand and develop conceptual designs including the ability to use colour and texture
• Self-confident and receptive to constructive feedback and criticism of your work
• The skill to visualise concepts and explain them to others
• Excellent communication skills including verbal, written and visual
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Desire to learn and expand design and industry knowledge
Responsibilities:
• Working accurately to a written or verbal brief
• Developing detailed designs and choosing materials
• Producing 3d rendering, sketches and mood boards
• Work with design team to produce schematic design presentations through imagery, materials, FF&E and color elevations and visuals
• Work with drawing team to produce CAD drawings
• Schedule information accurately and efficiently
• Assisting the design team to:
• Update the key suppliers’ spreadsheet with supplier details
• Arrange samples/new collections
• Organize supplier meetings, research new products and maintain the sample library research materials & finishes and relevant detailing
Goals/targets:
• To constantly develop knowledge and skills relevant or applicable to your role
• To demonstrate initiative and taking responsibility on projects where applicable
• To learn a new skillset with March and White Design above your current level (i.e. sketch-up/AutoCAD, FF&E etc)
• To develop your own network in the industry under the MAWD umbrella (introducing new suppliers and contractors)

Remuneration is dependent on experience
