Employment Type: Full-time, Hybrid (Initial 6-Month On-Site Training) Suomi Design Works, a dynamic, boutique hospitality design firm is expanding! We are looking for a full-time junior interior designer to join our team in New York City! We seek a candidate with a balance of excellent creative thinking and technical drawing, who not only can dream up innovative design but also exhibits technical proficiency and exceptional communication skills. A design triple threat! Candidates should be confident to work independently, communicating with our internal team to assess needs, adjusting design based on stakeholder feedback, and comfortable working in an engaging, high-paced team-driven environment. We seek someone who is able to design and produce ID contract documents and FF&E drawings and specs. Minimum 2 years in Hospitality Hotel Design with minimum 1 year FF&E specification writing and drawing experience. Position is Full-time, permanent and comes with benefits package including paid vacation and health care insurance. Salary is negotiable based upon experience level. Key Responsibilities: Proficient in CADD & Revit DD - CD Documentation. Prepare detailed drawings, renderings, and specifications using CAD software Conduct research on materials, finishes, and furnishings for design projects Collaborate on hotel and F&B design projects from concept through construction documents. Craft compelling design presentations, including rendered plans, elevations, mood boards, and detailed interior/FFE sketches. Assist in the selection of furniture, fixtures, and equipment for interior spaces Coordinate with third parties for high-quality renderings. Engage directly with clients to capture their vision and present design solutions. Work alongside vendors and internal teams to address client needs promptly. Maintain industry knowledge to ensure relevant and innovative design. Generate detailed FF&E drawings and specifications using CADD & Word. Keep effective communication channels with all stakeholders involved in the design process. Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and installation Assist in project management tasks such as budget tracking and scheduling - Maintain project documentation and files Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in interior design or related field Proficiency in drafting software such as AutoCAD or similar CAD programs Proficiency in Revit Drafting A minimum of 2 years of experience in hospitality interior design, specifically within the hotel sector. At least 1 year of hands-on experience with FF&E specification writing and drawing. Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) Proficient in Microsoft, and Google Platforms Adept at managing time and priorities within a collaborative, team-driven workplace. Ability to handle direct client interaction with poise and confidence.
