About this role

Design Atelier Toncheva is a rapidly growing design firm looking for a right-hand design assistant to help with design tasks on high-end residential projects. Key Responsibilities... The primary role of the Design Assistant is to assist the Principal in design project roles including: • Draft floor plans and furniture layouts. • Prepare mood boards and design presentations. • Research and source furniture, finishes, lighting, accessories and equipment. • Write and revise specifications. • Assist in budgets and schedules. • Gather necessary client meeting materials and organize the meeting agenda. • Manage meeting notes. • Visit job sites for meetings with clients and contractors. • Assist with installations. • Assist Principal with social media accounts and content generation. Skills Knowledge and Expertise • Degree in Interior Design preferred. • Minimum of 1-year interior design experience is preferred. • Excellent presentation skills, including space planning and drawing. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign, and Photoshop. • Ability to read a set of construction documents and section details. • Knowledge of and/or ability to learn timekeeping. • Experience selecting and specifying lighting, furnishings, hardware, floor/window coverings, materials, and finishes. • Ability to interact effectively with the Principal on multiple projects. • Experience with purchasing and budgets. • Knowledge of trade resources and vendors.
